2019 ELECTIONS – MAKE YOUR VOTE COUNT
Every four years all Parish Councillors and Herefordshire Council Ward Councillors must retire and, if they wish, can seek re-election to the Council. This is also the opportunity for others to put themselves forward for election onto the Council.
The next full Council Elections will take place on Thursday 2nd May 2019.
For Wellington Parish Council there will be 8 places; if there are more than that number of people apply there will be an election, if not those that apply will be deemed elected by virtue of the fact the election was uncontested. There will also be a vacancy for 1 Ward Councillor in Queenswood Ward.
Those wishing to put themselves forward to be a Parish Councillor must do so by 4.00 pm on the 3rd April; and the first meeting of the new council will be on Thursday 23rd May 2019, at 7.30pm in the Community Centre.
If you are not registered to vote you can do so by midnight on Friday 12th April 2019 by visiting the Electoral Services Office in the Town Hall, Hereford, or by going online at www.gov.uk/register-to-vote. If you wish to vote by post or by proxy, or you wish to change or amend a proxy vote this must be done by 5.00 pm on Monday 15th April 2019.
Your Ward and Parish Councillors work very hard for the residents of the Parish. Please give them your support by casting your vote on the 2nd May 2019.
